This legit keeps me awake at night, especially given how impressively incompetent our current administration is (trump can’t operate an email account). Think about how horrendous the environment got post Industrial Revolution before we did anything like the clean air and water act. Rivers catching on fire and whatnot. We’re gonna need a disaster or something scary to motivate and with the way ai intelligence evolves we may just be fucked when that happens
