These islands in the South Atlantic are the Malvinas Islands and they are under occupation by the United Kingdom despite being rightfully part of the sovereign territory of Argentina.

This is for real one of the funniest territorial disputes because the Argentine claim is just so goddamn stupid. There isn’t even anyone there who wants to be Argentine lol

It's "were" as in the past tense of "are". But even then, I was born in Argentina. When I speak in Spanish my Argentine accent stands out to almost everyone I speak it to in the US. Americans certainly wouldn’t appreciate if Spain was governing the Florida Keys or something like that. Why should we be okay with the UK governing our islands?

the Florida Keys were Spanish colonial territory, which is literally what Argentina claims gives them the right to invade. That’s like the worst possible example to try to make in support of your point lmao.

“I’m from this place therefore we have the right to conquer this nearby area based on old territorial claims despite the wishes of the people living there” very Israel of you

Also the Bahamas were British territory until 1973 and are right off the coast of Florida so like lol just deal with it??? Bermuda is off the coast of North Carolina. We still have maritime borders with the British Virgin Islands and Dutch Sint Maarten. Something being nearby doesn’t mean it’s yours lol

Clearly you already know English, do you just want to live there? And if it were Argentine then you wouldn’t have to go through whatever visa process they have?

I don’t want to live there, I just want my country’s resources to stop being stolen

Then tell Milei to invade or something. The US might stay out of it since they’re kinda close with Argentina and relations with Britain have been strained lately
