I honestly don't even give a shit if people are living here illegally. Why the hell does that matter? Why is that such a big deal? I do not care at all and I do not see how it affects me in any way

I think it’s completely valid for us to know who’s here, that they don’t have a serious criminal record, and don’t have ties to terrorist groups. But the process we have rn takes far too long and is unnecessarily complicated

"They're all criminals!" crime rates for illegal immigrants are significantly lower than they are for citizens, so that's not true, also we have horrible criminals here regardless so again who gives a shit

I mean it’s very bad for the people without legal status. They’re ineligible for many welfare programs, have no workplace protections, and have basically zero leeway to even get a speeding ticket. We need to grant legal status and a path to citizenship to all of them

This is pretty much what I think yeah My point was less "I don't give a shit about undocumented immigrants" and more "I don't think it's a problem that they're here," I may have phrased it poorly and made it sound like I don't care about them as people They deserve full legal status and support
