Why is large scale immigration not a valid solution? I don’t mean large scale unchecked immigration. I mean large scale controlled immigration.

Idk what the dems plan to do to accomplish this but I know the solution, it’s affordability. Getting that done is a whole other matter

I’m not a politician but I think the answer is simple. Set up a Bonnie Blue-esque line of men to have sex with your mother.

Universal healthcare which republicans opppose because it would mean giving healthcare to black people

the only two ways to grow a nations population and combat a ballooning average age is either citizens having children or allowing immigration. nearly all countries utilize a combination of the two, because that’s the most reasonable approach. additionally, the only way to encourage citizens to have children is to ensure that they can afford to have children.

What does affordability have to do with birth rates?

Which conservative policies are responsible for birth rate decline?

Removal of affordable healthcare, anti environmental protections which lead to long lasting health issues, loosening corporate regulation which leads to price gouging, etc

Limited immigration, tax cuts for the rich (very limited population) at the expense of social programs that make having children more financially viable for the average worker, starting wars that increase cost of goods, weak financial control that has led to 7/8 of the past recessions being under republicans leadership

Can you prove a causal link?

Do you have evidence that limiting immigration lowers birth rates?

It’s not a stupid question. Governments across Europe and a good chunk of the world are asking the same one.

So it’s not like a major factor but it is a factor. I’m skeptical about the housing cost claim tho, I feel like immigrants have a way smaller impact on housing costs than the monopolization of local real estate. Like in my town it’s pretty much 3 companies that own all new housing properties. Since they’ve started blowing up, real estate jobs have decreased, housing costs outpaced nationwide costs growth, meanwhile those companies are raking in hundreds of millions

This says that immigration lowers birth rates, not that restricting immigration lowers birth rates. You just provided evidence that contradicts your claim.

When people can’t afford to have children, they don’t have children.

Is that why poor Americans have more children than wealthy ones? Or why the poorest countries in the world have the highest birth rates, while wealthy countries like SK, Japan, most of Western Europe, etc have low birth rates?
