So the thing about that is that this line of thinking is exactly what insurance companies have spent decades cultivating. If everyone stopped paying for health insurance and that money was put towards universal healthcare, we would all save money. The only ones benefitting from the current system is the billionaires who own said insurance companies and the politicians that those billionaires pay off.
