I mean obviously it’s a problem but it’s not a majorly organized effort by minority groups like right wing media is claiming. I’m simply saying it’s no more serious than any other rape case.

People ignore rape because we as a society are swimming in rape culture and misogyny. Society does not care enough about victims to actually address the root issues, but systems are very invested in keeping racial minorities marginalized and this provides a convenient excuse to do it. As a victim nothing makes me angrier than people weaponizing rampant sexual violence to oppress and profile others instead of actually fixing the systemic issues that cause it in the first place.
