that’s like saying that it’s okay to be anti christian because 200k+ (confirmed) children have been molested by catholic priests. islam is not a monolith, there are progressives that recognize the problem. Don’t lump them all together.

I’m not. One of my friends is a Muslim and he is a good man. What I’m saying is that I have a problem with a religions prophet marrying a six year old girl. Until someone claims Jesus married a six year old I don’t see a comparison.

There are plenty of Muslims that don’t tie themselves to the faith and live normal lives. This is popular in the developed Middle Eastern countries (hence why they are developed). To brainwash women into thinking they are objects who must cover themselves is barbaric and vile, and I will never respect the teachings that have resulted in that.

Are you incapable of understanding the difference between an ancient thought by an individual or two versus an ongoing practice that subjects people to this day? It’s not like the pope is actively preaching punishing slaves and stoning children. Again, terrible analogy.

No, the pope might not be, but the Westborough Baptist Church still is again my point is that Islam is not a monolith while they might be a little bit more under developed morally than Christians don’t act like it’s inherently just this awful religion unless you’re willing to call out the things that Christianity preachers as well

Even if that were true, which I cannot confirm or deny because I know nothing of the Westborough Baptist Church, you would speaking about a tiny minority of a religion of billions. Though hijab/burkas are not mandatory in many of the less conservative Muslim countries, it is still common and preferred. The religion itself, to this day, preaches that women should cover themselves to prevent to gaze of man, practically villainizing women for a man’s lust. It is a barbaric thought process…

After researching, the WBC literally does not even have 100 members. Compare that to the hundreds of millions of women who have been subjected to the dehumanization of women that Islam preaches. You are providing anecdotals to try and defy a vast majority.
