Is it worth it

Yes and no. On the one hand you’re not paying 60 bucks to fill up, on the other you need to be careful about actual road trips. The chargers aren’t where they need to be yet

But times like this, totally worth it. I’m getting my car charged for pennies on my power bill

It also depends on your state's taxes and fees. Some states, like New Jersey, Ohio, and Washington, have ridiculously high taxes and fees on EV owners.

I got mine back when there was a hefty tax credit for getting one. $7500 max off the federal for that year

I wish they kept that tax credit. California will probably screw all their electric car owners next year because they have lost so much income from the decline in gas usage.

i won’t go electric until they figure out a way to dispose of the batteries that doesn’t include burying them and destroying our soil.

I believe the solution is interchangeable batteries. Stations where you pull in, they switch out for a new one, and charge your old one. Eventually all batteries lose their charge, but this will solve some issues

Ford and Toyota are investing hundreds of millions in creating a solid-state battery, which, if they succeed, would change everything EV-wise.

The solid-state battery would theoretically change everything from our phones to laptops to gadgets. It would be a huge step forward and buy us more time to find a better, more permanent solution to the energy crisis we will inevitably face at the rate the environment is suffering.

Solid state will be a game-changer. They’re talking 700 miles per charge and that shit will change the way transportation works
