Well the problem with that logic is that the Great Leap Forward caused a famine that killed people. It wasn’t the Communists kidnapping and murdering minorities for being different from them. An economic mistake is not akin to mass murder. Really lays out the difference between the left and right. When the left kills people, it’s by mistake. When the right kills people, it’s nothing but intentional and premeditated.

It’s also a wildly unequal difference in scale. Of course a mass tragedy in China will have a higher death toll, it has one of the largest populations on Earth. If the Holocaust had happened in China, I’m sure that kill count would be in the higher range too.

A death is a death, and on the whole left wing extremists have been far more destructive. Even worse when you dress it up as unintentional or for the good of society, because then you can’t argue against it. You’re not entirely wrong though, it is a tragedy of an entirely different scale. Communists are good at that.

I don’t think the CCP intentionally starved their own people. It was unintentional by the very definition of the word. Famines happen, it sucks, but it wasn’t caused on purpose. You really think that COMMUNISTS would want their workforce cut in half by a famine? Get real
