My theory about Elon is that he literally believes nothing he says, on either side of the political spectrum. He just says what he thinks will get him the most brownie points with whoever he’s trying to pander to at a given moment because of his ego.

There is no doubt he’s just a pet, he’s not even an official and he named his org after doge. He just has a lot of money and Trump loves money

Like just over a decade ago, he was beloved by liberals and heavily pandered to that demographic up until he leaned too hard into the “lol I’m such a memelord” thing and made them all think he was cringe. Now he’s trying the same thing with conservatives and failing again. He has no real values, just fishing for validation from anyone.

I think the turning point was, I shit you not, when he made that poll about stepping down from Twitter and almost everyone voted yes. As soon as the well of 4Chan musk fanboys ran dry and he realized that he lost all his fans by taking over twitter and trying to force being a memelord he just snapped and went full conservagrifter.

That and the backlash he received from his SNL appearance with the Wario bit. The moment he was forced to realize his delusion that most people thought he was a hilarious popular guy was wrong, it just totally broke him I think. It led him to where he is today.

He had that really huge mental breakdown after a music festival (I think?) and I don’t think he ever came back from it completely. That’s a fair starting point in his timeline, but the Twitter poll definitely sealed his fate
