You’ll also see some Zionists claim that groups like Hamas (or even student protestors!!!) are just as bad as or worse than the Nazis, which obviously downplays the horrors of the Holocaust

This is a common misconception. Zionist settlement of Palestine began in the late 1800s under the Ottoman Empire, and the British promised Palestine to Jewish settlers in 1916. The Zionists set up a company called the Jewish National Fund that bought land from Ottoman landlords, displaced the Palestinian tenants who had been there for generations, and settled European Jews there
