Trump plans to alter the Smithsonian Museum to “better align with his vision”. he’s defunding and replacing children’s educational content. and for like 5-8 years Republican representatives have been fighting tooth and nail for the opportunity to ban books based on whatever criteria they find to be “woke”. if you’re not being facetious, idk how this is news to you.

i don’t consume politics 24/7 bc i have a life to live and it’s honestly just a lot of unneeded anxiety about stuff i really have no control over. the next president is just gonna do what biden and trump both did now and sign an EO reversing all former EOs and we will probably do this fun thing of resetting any and everything the previous admin did every 4 years

like do you care that he’s trying to erase history? that’s not something you can just easily reverse. you’re right that typically, the president doesn’t actually matter that much. they’re a representative of the collective United States on a global scale. their job is not to vastly change our country over a short period like Trump is doing. that’s why it’s so unprecedented and widely talked about.
