Agree with the message but I don’t exactly get the part about they’re still people and respond to pressure. Like do you mean to try and use their humanity against them to talk them down from what they’re contributing to?

Not necessarily. Just that they’re people who get scared too. They’re just other people. While they could get so scared they resort to more violence (always possible and likely, especially with their leadership) they can also back down.
