anyone who is hating on Bad Bunny for performing at the SB lacks critical thinking. there r ppl crying abt how he needs to speak english in america, and i just dont understand that. he was invited by the NFL. its not like he held them at gunpoint and demanded that they make everything about football Puerto Rican. he was invited, and so obviously he accepted the invitation. also all of BBs songs are in spanish. why would he suddenly write like 5 new songs in english just for yall?
i disagree only abt the ESA bit, my ESA helped improve my mental health and pushed me to go to class more. if i didn't have it, i would have committed. but a lot of people getting ESAs don't need them, and are only bringing their pet in just to have a pet and ruining for the people that lowkey actually need them so i really do get your stance
ooh ok so you’re actually talking about me. and i still agree. i got a cat and a dog from the shelter, cat 2 years ago, dog 10 months ago. i live in an apartment. but they are ESAs. im in my senior year so im home 5 days/wk. they eat prescription and imported food. whole prey treats. we walk a mile daily. anyone who isn’t willing to do that, does not need a pet.
I agree they can be helpful in some situations, but generally people will bring their pets from home as esa’s and then seriously stress out the animal from the move by losing their territory (esp cats, cats are so territorial and colony animals who need their whole community), and it’s pretty well documented that the burden of having to be home to take care of the animal worsens isolation and deepens depression. Or, they’ll neglect the animal to be gone all day.
my problem is i see SO many people with working breeds; corgis, aussies, dobermans, GSPs etc. and do nothing w them. they just like the aesthetic. my dog goes to bite training every saturday. there are some cases (like mine) where ppl do right by their animals. unfortunately, its not the majority. and then they wonder why they misbehave and end up selling them on fb marketplace. no fixing, no shots, no training. just vibes. it pisses me off
Financial is a big reason I believe this. It is so rare for college students to have the financial security to actually support pets. Good quality food, vet appointments, annual vaccinations, flea and tick prevention medications, new bedding and toys and harnesses and collars and enrichment, it’s EXPENSIVE. Too many kids get the animal not realizing it’s a MONTHLY expense
I think unless you somehow have a crazy savings fund and the same exact class schedule semester to semester, college kids are not ideal pet owners. I was fortunate to have both when I got my cat (in an apartment). But I know a girl who had to put her cat down bc he got kidney disease, and she couldn’t afford the procedure that would’ve saved him. He was 4 years old. Meanwhile I dropped $1k on my cat once because she ate a toy. You have to have the finances for emergencies bc shit happens
i hate when people get a pet and then neglect it bc they don't have enough money to support it 😭 i was very fortunate to have help financially with him, but i hadn't had that help i would never have even tried with an ESA. a pet is a big responsibility and in a lot of cases college students just can't do it
oh yeah thats a no go. i got my pets once i got here. they didnt move. well ig they did, from the shelter to my home. but they weren’t family pets. i did pet sitting for a while and once i pearned my cat was friendly and liked dogs, THEN i got a dog. and they’re besties. it can be done right. but a lot of ppl do it wrong.
I think the best solution would be to actually enforce esa law, which is pets can be removed from housing if they’re damaging property, causing issues (like your dog barking for 10 hours a day bc you left it in a cage 4 inches wider than its body), or due to abuse and neglect. If there’s any question about the wellbeing of that animal campus NEEDS to investigate, and not be afraid of removal. Which IS LEGAL! Stop being scared of lawsuits from Timmy’s dad!
haha i also have a sorority tank. i went w my dog into petco, saw them in cups w ick, fin rot, swim bladder. i bought the stuff to set up and condition water in a tank quickly, planted it w real plants, and came back two days after that visit.$800 and several months later. i have 6 beautiful female bettas in a 80 gallon tank just bein sisters eating blood worms and flourishing. im very proud of the way i take care of my pets, bc its sad so many ppl dont
