as i understand it theres also demand for it in manufacturing (like silver) so thats driving it up as well

I feel like bitcoin is gimmicky, like if people have extra money lying around they’ll buy it, but when shit actually hits the fan they’re going to want a physical tangible commodity, not a digital token

Absolutely. I believe China is stockpiling a lot as well, since they’d like to reduce their dependence on the dollar. This probably makes other people want to buy it up as well

Bitcoin also reflects world investments, anyone any country can buy bitcoin
