Is it possible the provision in the CR where Senators get $500k per subpoena related to Jan 6 violate the 27th Amendment?

It’s so stupid that they’re calling it a breach of privacy like the Feds don’t need probable cause to be granted a subpoena. Even if it’s without their knowledge/consent, it’s irrelevant because they’re not the ones facing indictment. It just protects Trump with “poisoned apple” reasoning. God forbid a public official has conversations made public.

I also love the fact that only republicans are the ones getting this??? Like??? The republicans have subpoenaed democrats before, so why don’t they also get half a mil?

The fact that democrats caved for THIS makes me so fucking disappointed too. What the fuck did they even gain here?

Literally nothing. The ones who caved are already very unpopular or not going for reelection. Honestly I’m lowkey glad Republicans are getting EVERYTHING they want because it’s going to get to a point where they’ll be incapable of pointing the finger at the Dems
