I don’t think they should, but it’s becoming a larger part of politics. Remember how many people were talking about Trump going on Rogan? Hasan has an audience with millions of people and can influence elections. He could help the democrats but he doesn’t because he’s narcissistic and extremist.

Hasan is an extremist terrorist supporter who has been characterized by the right to smear democrats. It’s better for el-sayed to distance himself from Hasan to show that he doesn’t agree with the insane things Hasan does. Also Hasan has said repeatedly that he doesn’t want democrats to win, he didn’t support Kamala, and in interviews about El-sayed he claims that el sayed is distancing himself for purely political reasons. He won’t sacrifice his own image to help democrats

I feel like that’s obvious bs & just a cop out talking point. He distance himself from Hasan & the Republican still attacked him but instead now for being Muslim & the same Dems who were complaining about AES being with Hasan are still complaining but now it’s because of the things he’s said about Israel. Hell the attack against him have only intensified against him. Hell I genuinely don’t have an issue with him distancing himself from Hasan but to act like it made some huge difference when all

Same people who were complaining about it just found some new reason to complain & be made at him. At the end of the day the real issue was he’s a Muslim & doesn’t support funding Israel

I don’t know if it made that much of a difference, but I still think it’s good to signal to your base that you think Hasan is too extreme.

Do you disagree that online personalities have huge audiences which can impact elections?

I think that’s really dumb. To lean into republican attacks. I think AES saying he talking about how he’s a twitch streamer from CA & that he of course disavows some of the things Hasan says & then following Hasan disavows some of those same things as well. He even went one to say that the Republicans take clips out of context & use them to try & make the Dems fight themselves & distract from what’s really important which he used to pivot into talking about Michigan & his policies was really

Smart & the right way to do it. Giving the republicans an inch on disingenuous attacks is dumb & doesn’t change anything as we are currently seeing with this race.

I think it depends on the race & the person. Like can Hasan influence the president election no chance. Hell BeyoncĆ© & Taylor Swift couldn’t. But could Hasan help in small elections yeah. But it also depends on how. Like him saying go vote for blank won’t influence an election but multiple dem candidates this election cycle have said that him getting his large community to phone bank & door knock & fundraise has made a difference & helped them. So I genuinely depends on how big the race is &

I think he could make a difference in most elections, but maybe not a determining difference. He has an audience of millions of people. And I agree that mobilizing an audience is more impactful than just telling them who to vote for, but he doesn’t do that very often. I just don’t like the deflection of saying ā€œhe’s just a streamer from CAā€ when he a has a wider outreach than 90% of politicians

I mean he’s one person and he’s done it for multiple candidates this election cycle. I mean would it be nice if he did it for even more yeah but agin he’s one guy.
