Now more than ever DC needs statehood

The only reason DC exists is so that no state has the capital inside it. Originally it was supposed to be completely under federal control, state hood would be the exact opposite of what was intended.

The capital building and all other federal buildings can be drawn in a federal district while DC is turned into the 51st state— the parts where people live (could even urge for the south side to be integrated back into DC since they would get their votes back). If you don’t to give DC statehood then it needs special status giving it the privileges of a state.
