Passive voice is weird. They likely don’t know who’s holding the journalist. NPR says Iraqi security forces say they arrested one of the kidnappers

I was thinking more of “journalist holding us citizenship”, but unattributed passive-voice sentence construction also grinds my gears

Ohhhh. NPR said she’s American but also said she’s Rome-based. Maybe the initial reports didn’t know whether she was a dual citizen or something
