Me personally I’d be more flexible with the all forms of govt bc I lowkey don’t see the harm in hiring some ex con as a mailman or smth, I’d probably say ban criminal record from leadership/influential positions

This is unconstitutional and illiberal. - you can ban lobbying or even campaign finance contributions but you can’t target a specific NGO like AIPAC. Violates right to assembly. - you can’t ban “hate speech” it’s protected under the first amendment.

If the hate speech is worded in a way to insinuate a threat, it isn’t protected. I’d be willing to put my vote in to expand that and include political threats, if a politician is spewing racist and incorrect shit to promote a policy or law I absolutely think that shouldn’t be allowed. Racism and other hate speech is just wrong and allowing it in the government is plain stupid lol

i mean you can ban AIPAC specifically because it’s an undeclared foreign agent. the predecessor to AIPAC literally got shut down for this.

I would be in favor of going after them all, but influence from foreign corporations is not as bad as influence from a foreign *government*, especially one like Israel’s that is an infamous warmonger.

PACs are already prohibited from receiving money from foreign nationals or governments. If there’s evidence AIPAC does this by all means demand an investigation but what I’m really against is targeting specific PACs for political reasons. We should all be playing by the same rules.

yes and they don’t. what i mean is that organizations acting on behalf of foreign governments have to declare that. AIPAC doesn’t despite pretty blatantly being an arm of the Israeli government and more specifically having close ties to Likud, the current PM’s far right party. AIPAC also isn’t a PAC, the PAC in AIPAC stands for “Public Affairs Committee”, it predates the modern political action committee by 50ish years.

Well you have to disclose if you’re directly controlled or funded by foreign entities, but AIPAC is supported by domestic supporters of the Israeli government, and AIPAC isn’t really trying to fool anyone here. I do not think anyone could look at AIPAC and think they do not have the interests of the Israeli government or citizenry in mind.
