Honestly if companies are found to be intentionally making their products prone to planned obsolescence, they should be convicted I’m tired of stuff from 50 years ago still working with a bit of cleaning but modern stuff breaking after a year

If you’re on a budget, unironically go to thrift stores and get older appliances. Yeah, often they look dated af and really ugly, but stuff was built to last you a lifetime back then. Most of the time all you need to do is give it an afternoons worth of TLC and it’ll come back to life

also, if it’s older, there’s better odds you can find the specific guide you need to fix specific parts/functions. in part because older tech is easier to take apart and repair safely
