i feel like the initial downfall in education was the “no child left behind” policy. if you don’t comprehend the lessons, you shouldn’t be able to move on. it’s sets the kids up for further failure that impacts beyond grades.

As an educator, absolutely. Although because of this policy many students have been able to reach further highs than they would’ve been able to. It also causes many higher level or on par students to be limited in their education because some lessons take far longer to go over because some of the kids take much longer to comprehend them.

Was that a provision of NCLB? I think it was mostly about making sure schools met certain standards. The implementation wasn’t great though and it may have hurt gifted kids
