I do not get the recent normalization of racism against Indian people. Every Indian person I’ve ever met has no joke been either a doctor, professor, or an engineer and they’re somehow from an “inferior culture”???

I don’t think the poverty in India remotely justifies hatred against them, but this is actually just true, it’s generally the people with money who can afford to move to America and get an education here, hence there being so many well-educated professionals in the Indian community

exactly, let’s avoid “model minority” vibes when fighting racism - Indian immigrants disproportionately came w advanced degrees and/or some family money. Both my grandfathers were selected in the 70s bc they already had medical degrees + would practice in rural areas there def are non-rich Indian Americans too. And India itself was shredded by British colonialism, and then decentralized capitalism with hella corruption
