i’ve never quite understood why Republicans were so hostile towards anything regarding Covid like they denied the existence of it said the masks were evil and the social distancing was some crazy plot, but like why?

Anti-intellectualism from years of defunding education and having right wing propaganda become mainstream entertainment, then add on the fear of something they don’t understand, and the rampant use of social media which has devalued language, people chose to believe more entertaining reactions—fuck you this isn’t real, I never go to the doctor anyway, who do you know who’s getting sick, it’s not like my life should be placed on hold, what-even is a coronavirus, Donald Trump says it’s this

it’s just so unfathomable to me how extreme the hatred was just for public safety measures. Like it was a huge inconvenience and it’s arguably stunted the growth of a half generation but that’s not what they were arguing about yk

yeah, because they don’t understand. What they understand is that Fox News is making fauci and the cdc look like liberal authoritarian assholes who wanna ruin our good time, they want to control where we go, what we do, they they they. It’s all misinformation and propaganda, which is why it seems so crazy, but they believed it. Goes to show how evil the media and those who make money off of us and our attentions truly are.

It just reveals that certain ppl in this country really could not care less if our vulnerable die. It is literally less important to them than the inconvenience of waiting a few months to do your graduation ceremony.

plus, people don’t understand medicine and science. It’s complex and hard. Why should I wait for graduation when it’s basically the flu, right? Man, people just want us to be miserable.
