Communism is when the government interferes with a free market and creates their own monopoly enforced by state sanctioned violence or financial manipulation

People do all the time, it's better to ensure a lack of human interactive disease (e. coli, salmonella, etc) in your animals than try to kill off all the bacteria in them. We also have ways to test for these diseases with high efficacy so it wouldn't even necessitate the huge amount of antibiotics we pump into these animals.

monoculture agriculture has been the dominant agricultural pattern of europeans since Roman colonialism. european colonialism and capitalism expanded the monoculture to plantations to produce masses of commodities to be sold in markets. glyphosate and other petrochemical derived chemicals boost the productivity of plantations. our modern agricultural and food systems are capitalist in their origin

We naturally were leading away from that system with smaller regional monocultures prior to the New Deal, with leagues more heirloom varieties and diversity.

30.5% of our food subsidies go to one specific variety of corn.

So you want higher standards in what we consume, but also want to remove the one thing making it illegal for us to be sold crap. How come all the food in Europe and Japan is better

And don’t get me wrong we’re still being sold crap, our standards are way lax compared to other countries so that McDonald’s can spend less money

Bro the food industry being monoculture is directly due to capitalism and deregulation lmao, Monsanto literally made it illegal to replant your own seeds lmao

Monsanto trademarks specific varieties sure but the market wouldn't even allow for them to be grown en masse without the amount of subsidization we have
