I’m not 100% sure drugs were involved but I’m like 89% sure he was on drugs. He had a long history of violence against women, assaulting his sister. He’s schizophrenic and he lashed out on Zarutska because of the “materials” inside his body.

You make extremely good points, however, this murder has been politicized by right wing media and its orbiters to focus on the race of the attacker and the victim and claim that “the United States is failing” because of a single incident of violence. They’re turning it into a race problem instead of focusing on the systemic issues that led to it

I agree with both points. I don’t think he should have been able to walk free at ALL, and I made this post because I hated the fact that this is a tragedy and everyone only cared about “A BLACK man killed a WHITE woman!” Like this isn’t about race! This ain’t about politics! Sometimes people are just shitty people!

oh yeah for sure! I wasn’t denying that, sorry if it came off as such. We’re never going to make progress if the media continues to focus on the aspects of the crime that didn’t lead to it happening
