The difference between the left and those of us on the right is that we can respectfully disagree with each other while the left will wish death on anyone that even remotely disagrees with their agenda

The "right literally stormed the capitol" is the left's version of the "liberals literally burned down minneapolis"

one was a few protestors in response to the brutal racist murder of george floyd. the other was a political stunt orchestrated by trump and are now being rewarded for being enemies of the US. MAGA is a terrorist organization

and only a fraction were violent? idk what’s so hard to understand, a couple of violent protestors versus the ENTIRE EVENT being treasonous and to overthrow the government. Genuinely J6 is as bad as 9/11 and i’m not joking

Brother, Trump tried to convince people the election was stolen (it wasn’t) and armed protestors stormed the Capitol to try to prevent the fair election from being certified, yet it’s the Dems’ fault???? You are severely divorced from reality

they were equally as destructive as those looting and hurting people. they showed that trump is somehow above the law, allowing him to commit crimes against humanity that should, in any real society, make him rot in prison for the rest of his miserable life. instead, he conned you into believing it’s okay to overthrow democracy if it’s in service of their hateful MAGA cult

It gets a little muddier when both were done with clear political goals

Yeah, what do you think is a more justifiable, fair goal? Advocating against systemic racism and mass incarceration or advocating against certifying a fair election?

Protesting for a fent addict with violent priors seems just as dumb as protesting for a guy who lost the election to me

Does a guy deserve to die for being a fent addict with violent priors?

Not necessarily but he also doesn't deserve to be free, use counterfeit bills, or resist police.

Well, the whole point is that he shouldn’t have been killed, not that he was a hero

I see him being killed more as a consequence of his own actions than an example of systemic racism. Don't use counterfeit bills and especially don't resist police, you won't end up in that situation no matter your color or creed.

Well the point of systemic racism is that by consequence of being black he’s structurally much more likely to be arrested and killed by police for the same crime as compared to a white person even tho they commit crime at the same rate

Anonymous replying to -> #7 1d

Well for one, black and white people don't commit counterfeiting at the same rate, even when taking into account the highest estimates for false convictions.

When you take into account socioeconomic variance, crime is committed at the same rate by race. The reason for the difference in base rates is because black people are both more likely to be poor and more likely to be on average economic standing but live in a poor neighborhood as compared to white people.

Secondly, that doesn't change the fact that his death is a direct result of him resisting.

That logic falls flat when it works both ways. You could say that being impoverished leads to criminal behavior, but I would counter that criminal behavior like counterfeiting small bills, or assaulting a pregnant woman leads to being impoverished because it is financially punished and is not very lucrative in the first place.
