This is gonna sound imperialist but that's just basically gonna ensure that we're no longer the world's biggest power. If we no longer provide for Europe's military then we'll lose our close trade links with them. If we no longer help out Middle Eastern countries with their militaries, they'll pivot to China. And so on.

Not really. The EU just signed a $1.4 trillion deal with us.

Ah wasn’t aware of that. Still, I would guess flip flopping on tariffs hurts our reputation as a reliable trade partner

That’s a fair point but I think it could work if the goods that the government purchased wasn’t so inflated. Then again, that may not be feasible. Unfortunately we r an imperialist country
