Really fucking quick to assume all these frat bros are republicans but that’s just me, not defending them that’s just a wild assumption to make

This is only some frats, most frats nowadays are actually very against extreme hazing, far less hazing than it used to be

No seriously. Frat culture is just normalizing all of the grooming and gross behavior

this was what i kept thinking! the weird ritual hazing, the secrecy, how no one will/can say anything without fear of repercussions social or physical…ts is training camp.

Look up police body cam footage of Iowa frat and you’ll find the context lmao

Tbh this image is probably the weirdest part of the whole video, they basically just blindfolded them in this nasty wet basement and rubbed random stuff on them. Still weird and stupid honestly but when I saw this picture I was expecting something way more nefarious

the fact that when the cops first reach the basement they all have shirts on and then halfway thru the cops investigating they take their shirts off 💀

Yeah it almost feels planned that the cops and fire department came and they just weren’t supposed to say shit about what was going on. Which seems really dumb because this got them banned from campus for like 5 years but it might be generous to assume they thought of that as a possible outcome

I was in one that was very serious about not hazing but it’s not very common (we might just be lucky) but there are cultural norms in every org that normalize the worse tendencies in people being protected

i assumed they were told that under no circumstances should they stop the hazing even if the cops show up. that or maybe they initially thought the cops were fake and part of the hazing lmfao

It’s no wonder that most politicians were involved in Greek life or elitist social clubs, blackmail and humiliation rituals are what they do

exactlyyyy. and also why at large schools especially there is a financial barrier to entry. here i think even at bottom frats its 2.5k/semester even if you dont live in the house. the members are usually already upper middle to upper class🤒

Like I don’t think you realize how much less it is now compared to the past. And the stigma about hazing is because of the past, only a few frats do the heinous stuff nowadays

And you have proof this is majority of frats… how? Was it like that in the past? Absolutely. Is it still like that? Vast majority no

because there is a chapter currently on my campus known to have “stairs of consent”, one that has pledges sexually assault goats, and one that is currently in litigation and lost their charter because they beat a pledge so bad he was nearly paralyzed. one hired private security that tased and hit a girl who was waiting to get in line. one had a pledge run over and kill a cyclist drunk driving brothers to get beer…i can go on. this is all widely known and all within the last few years

And these are all on your campus… yeah that is super believable. Surely your campus is headlining right?

I mean the leader of the group was taken into custody the next day and you can literally see body cam footage from inside his apartment where he is watching Pete Hegseth speeches but ok

Bruh why are you so defensive? You’re replying to half the people here trying to defend fraternities. Nobody cares about your clubhouse for rich guys who clearly struggle to repress their bisexual thoughts

Hi! I was in a frat at Uiowa, the most “hazing” we ever did is during our initiation ritual we would gently and politely out a bag on their head when they went between rooms
