I live in this general area and that’s just what they’ve been doing for a while now, last ditch crazy attempts to get charges dropped or lowered on technicalities because the death penalty is still in play. It’s sleazy defense attorney stuff, trying to get their clearly guilty defendant from getting executed and just spend life in a NY prison, I wouldn’t worry about it
