Trump is awful and obviously doing something wrong but hasan is a grifter of the highest degree and the left’s inability to see that is shocking

both participated in sex trafficking i dont like the idea of making him a figurehead for all leftists bc he’s vehemently misogynistic. we wont have liberation without women’s liberation

How is he a grifter?

yea his takes and his attitudes are kinda doodoo poopoo sometimes but i think he’s been riding his looks/appearance of being conventional attractive to have gotten this far. dont get me wrong, he’s not a total dumbass incapable of some of this stuff, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when he’s doing opening remarks for a candidate bc his endorsement could taint the whole thing due to his “controversial” career.

What candidate has his endorsement tainted?

Any candidate he’s endorsed has been tainted in the eyes of the establishment. One of the very few things (as a leftist) I agree with Hasan on is his stance on Israel, which also happens to make the establishment see red anytime it’s mentioned

no im not saying he ruined it and its over for the candidate at any point. it just leaves a bad taste in *my* mouth as i believe it may have the potential to turn off a voter from the candidate due to his endorsement. people know Hasan Piker’s name and are more likely to know of him, which is more than they know about the candidate and their political views or stances. in today’s internet world, people will just say “Hasan Piker’s guy” instead of a name (Abdul El Sayeed) which is frustrating af!

By the establishment do you mean the Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries part of the party? Also is that good or bad to have that part of the party supporting you as a candidate in your opinion?

So you’re saying it hasn’t happened in a meaningful way yet but it could happen in such a way someday & you view that as an issue?

i am currently watching El Sayeed’s race very closely but Hasan Piker opening for the MSU event was not something i was expecting. it’s extremely hard to reach opposition out here in Michigan. thankfully, being in the capitol area he didn’t need to deal with that so maybe it was a good choice, but my experience with voters just an hour north of there would foam at the mouth if they heard HP endorsed El Sayeed. they need to hear policies and forget personalities that sends them in polarization.

way to clock me though, i like your spark with that.

There is no right answer because completely denying Piker means closing a potential door for progress in the Democratic Party and continued support for Israel which is obviously wrong at this point. On the other hand, allowing him to become a face of the party means potentially alienating moderate voters which the establishment claim are super duper important, so I’m not entirely sure what the correct answer here is. I just don’t like him on a personal level

lol thanks. I agree with you & believe that a candidates policies & convictions should be the most important thing. Hasan is a polarizing figure but at least so far not enough to negatively impact the campaign and is so far as a net benefit. I mean look at Zohran Mandani Hasan’s endorsement of him was used as one of the main sources of attack against him by Chris Cuomo & Fox News to no effect. P.S there’s 0 part of me that believes Hasan is the reason Zohran won I’m just saying pointing to him

Didn’t have the negative impact people thought it would. Also I believe Dr El Sayed is another prime example. He was in third before the Michigan State thing & is now leading in the polls & has also said that plenty of young people tell him that they learned about his campaign & decided to get involved because of Hasan. Again Hasan definitely shouldn’t be the end all be all for any campaign or candidate but he doesn’t seem to hurt campaigns like mainstream media claims & is a net benefit to them

I think not liking him on a personal level is valid & fine. Like we don’t have to like everyone. While I don’t believe Dems should necessarily say F their moderates I think they should lean into their base far more. You may agree or disagree but in my opinion I feel like the Dems prefer to try & get the moderate vote more & turn away from their base & so far this hasn’t be working for them
