Look at the welfare enrollment by political affiliation. depends on the program, state requirements and exemptions; pregnant people, caregivers of people below a certain age, some disabled people, and others are some common exceptions to work requirements

Also, for programs that don’t require employment, Democrats are more likely to enroll, for programs that do require employment Republicans and Democrats enroll equally. And that according to UChicago
