as someone who was alive for all of this, let me just describe the highlights: 2001 - The Shrek movie is released in theaters at the beginning of the summer. 2008 - Obama elected. Somalian pirates. Beijing Summer Olympics… The Great Recession & housing market crash. 2016 - Pokémon GO, music at an all-time high, Moana was released, Rio Olympics… Trump elected 2020 - Kobe died, Global Pandemic started, BLM protests, Nintendo Switch & ACNH game…

It’s definitely 2001 purely because of 9/11 and the resulting changes from it
