I know a shit ton about mining (also this is my first public comment here hi everyone! 👋) Ocean floor mining is still in its very early infancy. We know it’s there and roughly how much is there, but we don’t have the equipment to actually extract them from the floor in economic quantities, nor do we have established processing circuits to concentrate the cobalt from the deep sea nodules. But currently cobalt mining is very destructive in artisanal (non-industrial) mining communities
