The people who have to use AI are likely failing tests though, and will struggle to show they know anything in interviews

Am I stupid for thinking AI is going to make everyone mentally stupid? There’s already articles showing a decrease in long-term-memory of facts learned from AI vs actually studied. Ai is dandy and definitely helps in a lotta fields, but using chatGPT to replace ur own brain is just fuckin stupid.

AI used in like learning models for understanding research patterns and correlations is great. But everyone asking it to do their homework and write their emails is just making is fuckin stupid

Also, when they replace all the entry level jobs, how is anybody going to be ready for the higher level ones? These jobs do more than just their raw work output.

Yea all the CS apprenticeship programs are fucked rn for sure. social infrastructure just wasn't developed enough to handle AI being introduced so Id expect a lot more layoffs in the tech sector once people start setting up more AI agents and make the short term profit over long term viability decision

I’d argue that was the point. The tech companies leading this current push all have a fundamental goal of displacing the entire workforce, while maximizing their own profits; in addition to locking the pursuit of knowledge behind further paywalls. if someone wants to use a model, please for the love of everything good and sane look into local models (this part isn’t for you tho my fellow cs head, but for the people who don’t know that local models exist)
