I think that’s just how much it costs, unfortunately, unless you want to scale up. Sure there’s fleecing of money, but no more than usual for the US military The HMS Queen Elizabeth is cheaper but it’s a small one tho

Look I’m all for people getting as much care and compassion and possible… but have you seen most Americans? You don’t have to be an MD to calculate what they are pitching is going to cost waaaaay more than they are saying. Solution focused: are there any other ways to solve the healthcare issue than trying to force the government to do it?

To my knowledge a carrier hasn’t been struck down since WWII. (Not that I’m a big fan of a huge surface fleet, submarines seem to cover down on most of the essential mission sets)

I'm saying more along the lines of kamikaze attacks are over. The risk of losing a life and a plane are over, now is just $10k and a drone. Substantially easier to justify without the loss of human life.

It’s still really hard to shoot an aircraft carrier down, since they don’t go super into the contested territory, have defenses / are huge… And most importantly, they have aircraft on them that will just intercept anything from hundreds of km away
