there could be a mediator whose job it is to make sure the bill isn’t misrepresented (kinda like a judge). this could all even be an extension of the regular jury duty process.

and SPECIFICALLY have the legislators be the ones pitching/defending the bill, not “experts” hired by lobbyists

I need our representatives to actually care about the things they’re trying to put into place. I need them to understand the bills enough to actually have a debate; if middle schoolers can do it, so can these 40yo professionals
