
Just bc you understand the text and can make good arguments for it, but just bc you understand nuances and how to debate it, doesn’t mean the rest of Christians are like that. They can be christians and be uneducated, they can have bad beliefs and controlling views and they vote to uphold them. They’re still Christians even being a bad person. It’s not a bad christians or a misguided one, it’s just a person who is Christian.
no one has been more successful at manipulating the masses to be okay with atrocities while keep them in a position of moral superiority. It’s honestly something I want more study and scholarship on. Like, how was it so successful? Without the explanation of it being the most “true” or “best” religion.
