It was used as much to justify it as it was to demonize it. Bartolomé de las Casas, John Brown, the Quakers, American Anti slavery society was founded by clergymen

This is literally in reference to the POTUS. Also Christianity has done all of those things too. Also I’ve been a Christian my entire life until recently so I think I earned the right lol

Hard to say religious scholars still actively debate slavery in the Bible mistranslations through the centuries have a hand in that. Most permitted slavery comes from the Old Testament which is hard to take at face value due to Hebrew not having a word for slave.
