On mountain hikes, those rock piles are often used to indicate the correct path to follow. Too many can mislead hikers and lead to them getting lost or hurt.

I get it’s an issue bc monkey see monkey do and 20 rock stacks does cause a genuine issue, and in general the important of leave no trace in every capacity, but I also feel like we can at least pretend to not take joy in it when you kick them down in front of the 6 year old who built it and bask in their cries
