I’m pretty sure the point of their post was that Andrew Jackson committed genocide, not that Trump isn’t awful

Last I checked, neither of the men in this picture pushed for and signed into law an act that killed and/or displaced hundreds of thousands of native Americans. And which forced the survivors into lives of poverty, disease, and starvation. Thats not saying that Trump isn’t a horrendous person and president. This should not have had to be explained.

No, they just aided in the biggest sex trafficking ring on the planet, Trump cut medicaid for millions of people, cut food programs, addiction aid programs, loosened enforcement on civil rights violations, helped bomb an entire country to rubble

A genocide that started and would have continued without him. Not the case for Andrew Jackson. Jackson’s was also on American soil.

Trump was not the first president involved in said ring. He is not the only one who’s chopped Medicaid or other social welfare. Forget “loosening enforcement,” Andrew Jackson perpetrated possibly the worst civil rights violations in the history of this country and defied SCOTUS’s attempts to stop him. He also suspended habeas corpus on SEVERAL occasions.

AND were that not enough, he shut down the national bank and caused one of the worst financial crises of that century. I get Trump is bad, but dude, this is not a contest. (That’s not even mentioning that AJ actively suppressed abolitionist rhetoric at a time that it was gaining momentum).

Because we’re talking about the worst president OAT. Trump is certainly bad. Terrible even. What hes done has been done before and will be done again. The fact of the matter is that Andrew Jackson was worse on the economy and worse on civil rights. It’s not debatable.

Shutting down and censoring the abolitionist movement. Defying SCOTUS and signing into law the bill that caused the Trail of Tears. Suspended habeas corpus. Destabilized the economy. Literally started the spoils system.
