Why not just call him wrong? Also the whole argument being made by everyone talking is wrong. Most infrastructure was built in the last… 40ish years at least in the USA + SE Asia. Likely Europe as well but they have buuuuunch of really old stuff.

Nah, valid question. Africa has had slave labor for much much longer and has rich resources. For parts of Africa you can say that colonization and intervention prevented economic success. But there are many African countries that were not interfered with but used slave labor and did not rise in economic power the same way the west did. What do you attribute this to?

I’ve been caught. Genuinely thought there was more, but looks like only Ethiopia and Liberia were not colonized at some point. I’ll have to do more research. My mistake.

And for that matter Liberia actually was colonized, but it was a settler colonial project by the United States to bring free African Americans to Africa. And Ethiopia was invaded by Italy during WW2 and was under Italian rule for 5 years.
