I mean we can’t grow at the capacity in which Americans eat them. Other congressman said that we need to “build” them in America lmao

1st of all that was Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnik. 2nd he said “if you build in America and produce your product in America, there will be no tariff 3rd. Yeah we produce about a 100th of what we consume, but the entire point of tariffs is to increase the production in the US, we probably wont reach the levels to replace the entirety of what we need, but we could get a little closer

It isn’t exactly as simple as that. Hell it would take many years for us to produce as much as we import. And most of what would be used to even build the shit we need to produce comes from overseas.

Not at all what I said, I said increase production, so we’re not relying as heavily on imports.
