fun fact! a growing number of scholars now believe that moloch was actually a *type* a sacrifice to a deity, not a deity that children are sacrificed to and that sacrifices associated with the moloch may have been to yahweh (among other deities)🤗

moloch isn’t a deity to be worshiped but a long abandoned practice. if we were to follow the line of thought that the moloch is a type of child sacrifice then the most recent one in religious context is jesus

1, again, many agree it’s unlikely moloch was a deity. 2 no i’m saying that the sacrifice of jesus, the first and only son of god, in order to save peoples souls is aligned with the practice of moloch. so arguably christian’s worship a moloch sacrifice alongside the deity he was sacrificed to
