Her family said they would’ve still considered having the baby, but it’s the fact that they legally have no say whatsoever what happens is the problem. That, and each day it’s less and less likely the baby will be born, and more and more likely that if they are, they’ll be born with major defects
But the problem with total bans is there is no clear guidance on what is considered life threatening to the mother. Doctors are afraid of performing it and being sent to jail and patient die. Or in total bans, they don’t have the supplies. I don’t like the concept, but banning it has dangerous risks that are playing out right now. What counts as mother’s life? A bleeding complication? HBP? Her having to go off seizure meds for the baby and having one?
