imo it depends on the form nuclear fission should only be used as an intermediary as a means of transitioning the grid, while we research and develop forms of sustainable energy generation not reliant on continuous extraction. nuclear fusion however, is an entirely different story; and I agree with #3 that it’s likely the future of energy production, in addition to widespread passive energy production

Making synthetic oil is very expensive and wouldn’t be able to keep up with gasoline demand, unless everyone is willing to pay many times more per gallon. It would drive prices well above 10 in today’s dollars

Electric cars still need oils and lubrication we just very likely won't derive them directly from oil wells since we are discovering more effective methods

The real difference there is that your oil/lube system in an electric car is closed off and would require significantly less maintenance vs an open system like your average gas motor needing to be swapped every 5k or so miles
