So are nickels. However, you can’t get rid of just nickels because then you couldn’t round to nearest 10- how do you pay with a quarter? You would have to go straight to quarters only

(Don’t flame me bc I’m not sober rn) Couldn’t we just mint a batch of pennies like once every 5/10 years and that’ll keep them in circulation without blowing a bunch of money

Idk the logistics but Canada got rid of their pennies 13 years ago and they’re doing just fine without them

Right but they still have their 5 cent I think Eurozone also got rid of 1/2 cent coin for the most part. They’re rare, and companies are allowed to round to nearest 5 cent
