I mean personally, whenever I run into someone saying something outlandishly, cartoonishly evil, I prefer to think it’s most likely bait, bc I don’t want to lose all faith in humanity. But that’s another problem with rage baiting too, cause a lot of the time you really cannot tell what’s genuine vs what’s bait

Yeah you can’t tell, which is why I never assume that something is rage bait, a lot of bad things have happened because people don’t take what others say seriously

I respect that. And I do agree that to some degree it can be helpful in testing who can discern bait from reality. I just think that in more recent times there’s been a significant increase relative to any other time in history, and it’s being used as an excuse to say some pretty terrible things bc “it’s just rage bait, you got baited” yk?

The reason it’s more prevalent is the fact we a the most easy form of communication ever available. Before you would rage bait people in person now with the internet you can rage bait a lot more people
