
The issue with the act was in terms of how it dealt with survivors of domestic violence. In cases where an abuser baselessly accuses a victim of a crime, the victim would be denied entry into the US and deported. That’s why the democrats voted no. While I support deportation of migrants who commit sex crimes after they’ve served time, I don’t think this bill was structured very well at all, and should have been sent back to the drawing board.
