Did you do any research as to why they voted that way? And this is totally disingenuous, everyone knows republicans want to deport people indiscriminately. I would literally die of happiness if the republicans suddenly decided to only want to deport rapists and bad criminals

The issue with the act was in terms of how it dealt with survivors of domestic violence. In cases where an abuser baselessly accuses a victim of a crime, the victim would be denied entry into the US and deported. That’s why the democrats voted no. Pretty disingenuous framing from the OP ngl. While I support deportation of migrants who commit sex crimes after they’ve served time, I don’t think this bill was structured very well at all, and should have been sent back to the drawing board.
