I just think it’s a little strange that whites celebrated George Zimmerman and Daniel Penny for lethally defending themselves against people who didn’t (even attempt to) touch them, but now being assaulted is insufficient pretext to defend yourself-

The people who celebrate them are just racists. I think they should be in jail. White people are not uniform.

Assault is an interesting way to characterize shoving someone who was told tens of times that they needed to leave. There is no world where stabbing someone in the heart is an even remotely proportional response to that

Right right, but that doesn’t explain the discrepancy. It also implies the justice system and even the president are racists

The justice system is unequal. I do not think that invalidates that what Anthony did was also awful and a crime. Billionaires frequently get away with crimes that other people are imprisoned for. That means the justice system should be charging those billionaires more, not that those crimes aren’t awful. And there’s a fundamental difference between pointing out the real discrepancy and defending Anthony’s actions.

“These other people should have also been charged for similar crimes, and the fact that they weren’t shows how unequal the criminal justice system is” is extremely different than “I support stabbing someone to death as a normal part of high school shoving matches”

Also Trump is very explicitly a racist, yes

You can’t attempt to murder people by pushing them down bleachers or this is what you deserve

Someone defending George Zimmerman and Daniel Penny is giving a lecture about proportional responses 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹

No, it’s about the legal precedent that was set and is now not being followed because the races were switched

I didn’t say either of them were right, I said Karmelo was clearly wrong. I don’t understand the point of deliberately misunderstanding me

Hey so, shoving someone is assault! Welcome to earth, it’s fun here, usually

It sure is! Unless that someone has a knife and is openly threatening you. Then it’s absolutely not assault to create physical space between you

You sound redonk😹 If someone was “openly threatening” him “with a knife” he would’ve run! Or screamed! But that’s not what he did, because that’s not what happened😹 The last thing he’d do is engage!

That’s exactly what happened. I mean that’s literally the undisputed court record of what went down. I’m not saying it was a smart response, but it’s unquestionably what happened

I never had to defend myself from a murder trial for stabbing anyone so I think I made the right choice.

"undisputed" is doing a lot of heavy lifting for your claim bud saying "touch me and see what happens" is not a threat, it's a warning. threats communicate an intent to cause harm whereas warnings communicate a potential for harm without intent. anthony showed no intent to hurt him - only warned him against the potential danger of doing so. sadly, metcalf learned that lesson the hard way, but he wasn't threatened, nor was the knife's presence known to anybody but anthony until it was drawn

If the harm is coming from you, and it’s solely your decision to inflict harm, it literally cannot be a warning. “Touch me and see what happens” directly means “I intend to hurt you if you touch me.”
